Pacbyte has undertaken research and development into various methods of compressing data files with success in a number of areas, including significant increases of compression with RGB image files and H264 ABR files. These technologies have been patented.

Pacbyte conducts ongoing research into higher levels of lossless compression of image, audio, general data and video formats. This is undertaken using proven tools developed over many years, and now with the introduction of AI with these tools, the development cycle is expected to shorten considerably.

Pacbyte is also exploring a new video format that will be compatible with all current devices able to play the H264 (MP4) format, but with considerably less data required to be streamed, but achieving the same quality as is delivered now. As part of this development, Pacbyte is also developing its own AI engine to increase video quality in its many forms.
